Chapter 1
the statistic guide
the statistic guide
This chapter will cover information about statistics.
When your character has been accepted, you will receive a set of statistics from the Master Account. These stats are all the same for every new dragon/hatchling (unless the dragon was created for a plot). They are as follows: Class, Level, Health, Attack, Defense, Breath Weapon Attack, Breath Weapon Defense, and Speed. We will break each one down and discuss them individually.
The first stat you are given is your class. Don't be alarmed by the fact that it says unavailable, this is normal. The class of a dragon is what affiliation they are with. Such as; Sacred Warder, Unholy Ravager, Farmer, etc. These have certain effects on how much each stat raises when the dragon raises level. There is a guide to all possible classes and what effects they have on stats.
The second stat is your level. This is, obviously, self-explanatory. All dragons start out at level 1 (unless approved by Crow for it to be otherwise). To raise your level you must go on quests and gain experience. Your experience which is located in your mini-profile on the side of your posts. When you gain experience, or believe you have enough to raise a level, please notify a staff member. You must have posts and actions in your posts (as well as completed quest threads) to prove that you have gained said experience, or your request to rise in level will be denied.
After your level is listed your health. Obviously, this is how much damage you can sustain before dying. No, not fainting like pokemon, but actually dying. If your health drops to zero then your character dies and cannot be roleplayed anymore. Do your best to not let that happen.
Next is your attack stat. This is crucial in a fight. When you are going to attack another character, you have a choice of using a physical attack (biting, clawing, ramming, etc.) or using your breath weapon. The attack stat controls the damage dealt only by physical attacks. So, if you decide to bite your opponent, you first use the attack tag. If your attack hits (50%+ on the attack tag), then you use the percentage given to you for how much damage your attack deals. For example: Thor rolled (used the attack tag) 55%, which means that her attack hit. Her attack stat is 5. 55% of 5 is 2.75. Round to the nearest whole number, and her attack power is 3. Now, because there is a defense stat as well, she may have actually dealt less. Let's look at the defense stat.
The formula to find your attack power is: attack * tag% (round)
Defense is how much damage you can deflect of physical attacks. Instead of looking at it as a number, look at it was a percent. All new dragons are given 5 defense, so, essentially, they can deflect 5% of physical damage dealt. Using the example from above, we will see how much damage Thor's opponent actually received. 5% of 3 is .15. .15 rounded up is 1. 3 minus 1 is 2. Fortunately for her opponent, Thor's attack power was dropped by one points. Her opponent only lost 2 health from the attack. Now, when you buy armor, your defense is raised by x%, depending on what armor you bought. Simply add on the armor defense to your base stat. Armor also only protects where it is worn. So if you buy a helmet, don't expect your back to be protected by the higher defense stat. For example: Thor buys an Iron Helmet (+5% defense). Her base defense stat is 5. Add 5 to it and you have 10. So her new defense is 10, but this will only apply to attacks aimed at her head.
The formula for figuring how much damage you reflect is: opponent's attack power * your defense (round)
The formula for figuring how much of an increase your armor will give you is: base defense + armor defense
Your breath weapon attack and breath weapon defense skills work in the same ways that your attack and defense do. The BW defense can also be modified by armor, and in the same way. So if you buy a helmet, don't expect to have your body protected.
The last stat you are given is your speed. This is the stat that controls who strikes first in a fight. Whichever dragon has the highest speed, even if only by one point, gets to make the first move. Then it falls into a repeating pattern. If two dragons have the exact same speed stat, they must ask a staff member to decide who attacks first. The staff member will ask each member to pick 'heads' or 'tails', heads being below 50%, and tails being above. They will then post an attack tag and whomever wins gets to attack first.
We are all about being fair and logical. If you have questions, need something explained to you, or have found an error in calculation, please let us know!
